Rub­bish fire sparks 999 call

TWO fire en­gines along with a wa­ter car­rier from Chea­dle were called to re­ports of a blaze in Leek Road, En­don at 6.29pm last Thurs­day. .

A spokes­woman for Staffordshire Fire and Res­cue Ser­vice said: “We were called at 6.29pm.

“It was a con­trolled burn of rub­bish on farm­land.

“At the time two pumps from Leek and a wa­ter car­rier from Chea­dle ar­rived the fire was unat­tended but the landowner agreed to stay un­til the fire had burned out. Crews left at 7.34.pm.”
