Rubbish fire sparks 999 call
TWO fire engines along with a water carrier from Cheadle were called to reports of a blaze in Leek Road, Endon at 6.29pm last Thursday. .
A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 6.29pm.
“It was a controlled burn of rubbish on farmland.
“At the time two pumps from Leek and a water carrier from Cheadle arrived the fire was unattended but the landowner agreed to stay until the fire had burned out. Crews left at 7.34.pm.”
