Tree and bench put in place to re­mem­ber vic­tims of all con­flicts

A CER­E­MONY has taken place in Ched­dle­ton to re­mem­ber all the fallen from the wars.

Staffordshire Moor­lands MP and Min­is­ter for North­ern Ire­land Karen Bradley, joined mem­bers of Ched­dle­ton Par­ish Coun­cil to plant one of the trees that make up the Queen’s Com­mon­wealth Canopy.

Pic­tured are Karen Bradley with John Tunna, Keith Har­vey, Denise Hart­ley and vice-chair­man, Michael Bowen, stand­ing by a new com­mem­o­ra­tive bench pur­chased jointly by the par­ish coun­cil and the “Cau­tion­ary Lands Trust” in re­mem­brance of all the fallen, who in­cluded mem­bers of the Com­mon­wealth.

The birch tree is of mil­lions of trees be­ing planted to es­tab­lish a global net­work of pro­tected wood­land.
