Tree and bench put in place to remember victims of all conflicts
A CEREMONY has taken place in Cheddleton to remember all the fallen from the wars.
Staffordshire Moorlands MP and Minister for Northern Ireland Karen Bradley, joined members of Cheddleton Parish Council to plant one of the trees that make up the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy.
Pictured are Karen Bradley with John Tunna, Keith Harvey, Denise Hartley and vice-chairman, Michael Bowen, standing by a new commemorative bench purchased jointly by the parish council and the “Cautionary Lands Trust” in remembrance of all the fallen, who included members of the Commonwealth.
The birch tree is of millions of trees being planted to establish a global network of protected woodland.
