‘CCG made no assurances over future of hospital’
IN HIS recent letter Marcus Warnes began: “I have been disappointed over the last few weeks by the scaremongering and misinformation being discussed online and at a public meeting on Tuesday September 4 about Leek Community Hospital.”
He did not feel the need to offer even a single example of what he regarded as scaremongering and misinformation!
The bulk of his letter briefly outlined the bureaucratic journey for his “…ambitious and exciting proposals that will form the basis of our consultation later this year.”
At the end of which, “Once we get the green light, we will begin formal consultation.”
Until that golden era arrives, clearly Mr Marcus, a top bureaucrat, would like us all to sit back, relax and above all to keep quiet.
What he didn’t bother to mention was that both wards at what he called the Leek Community Hospital have been closed for some time, without consultation and against the wishes of the community. Clearly someone in his bureaucracy is colour blind!
I too, Marcus Warnes, have been disappointed over the last few weeks, indeed months, by your efforts to obfuscate your intentions.
Not once in your letter, designed to be a cuddly, comforting reassurance to all we wicked doubters, do you specifically state that you have no plans to withdraw the hospital, ie to close it.
So, Marcus, I’m afraid you’ll have to get used to being disappointed until you demonstrate that you will deliver what the community want, namely the retention of their Leek Community Hospital. Peter Kent-baguley Leek
