PUPILS at St Leonard’s First School in Ipstones have welcomed local author Anya Acres to read them stories from her books and also to think of ideas on how her new book could end.

She explained to them the process of how she became an author, showed them the draft copies of Ollie Discovers the Planets and the children acted out the story with Ollie and inflatable planets.

The children enjoyed her visit and were able to buy signed copies of both of her books, Ollie Discovers the Planets and Ollie Discovers the Dinosaurs.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “Anya would like to come back to visit us to read her third book, Ollie Discovers the Arctic.

“However she hasn’t got an ending for her book and would like the children to get involved.

“So on her next visit she will be asking the children to think of how Ollie’s Arctic adventures may end and she may choose one of the children’s ideas as an ending to her book.

“The children are all super excited about this.”
