Old Boys stay in touch with home vic­tory

LEEK CSOB re­main in touch with Premier Di­vi­sion lead­ers Sil­verdale Ath­letic fol­low­ing a 2-1 home win over Han­ley Town.

The Old Boys are level on points with Ath­letic and have a game in hand.

Tom Coates (39) and Jamie Poin­ton (65) put the Poin­ton Park side 2-0 up, but Han­ley made it a nervy last 15 for Leek when Jor­dan Hall scored for Han­ley.

Sil­verdale con­tinue to lead the way at the top after beat­ing one of the early favourites for the ti­tle, Tun­stall Town.

Mark Mount­ford and Tom Kim­ber­ley gave United a 2-0 lead, but Kieran Ball pulled one back be­fore half-time.

How­ever, Jake Brax­ton­l­loyd, Kings­ley Gyamfi and Reece White scored three more in the sec­ond half to se­cure the points and keep them on top on goal dif­fer­ence from Leek CSOB after their win over Han­ley Town.

Redgate Clay­ton moved up to fourth place with a 5-1 home win over Wal­sall Phoenix. Jack Fin­ney helped him­self to a hat-trick and there were strikes from Shaun Whiel­don and Dan Col­clough.

East­wood Han­ley chalked up a wel­come 2-1 win at Chea­dle Town, a penalty from Mark Shall­cross and a goal from Eli­sio Fran­cisco se­cur­ing the points for East­wood.

Last sea­son’s cham­pi­ons Wol­stan­ton United were 11-0 win­ners at bot­tom club Florence.

Shane Wil­liamson led the way for United with four of the goals, Dave Ash­ley net­ted a hat-trick with the other goals com­ing from Corey Nel­son (2), Ash­ley Lees and Jon Hughes.

Staffordshire Moor­lands pulled off the re­sult of the day in Di­vi­sion One by hold­ing lead­ers Aud­ley to a 2-2 draw.

The Moor­lan­ders have strug­gled a lit­tle this sea­son, but be­lied their lowly po­si­tion in the ta­ble to se­cure a point thanks to goals from Jake Binns and Alex Cimino, while Jake Smith and Jack Bar­low were on tar­get for Aud­ley who re­main three points ahead of Leek CSOB Re­serves, who were 4-0 win­ners at Keele Univer­sity.

Al­berto Tari and Tom Swann gave the Old Boys a 2-0 half­time lead and Mitch Brown and Kiefer Hill net­ted in the sec­ond half.

Mil­ton United put 12 goals past bot­tom club Red Star Alma, who replied twice and Fo­ley Meir beat Nor­ton Wan­der­ers 3-0 with two goals from Liam Tom­lin and a sin­gle from Richard He­witt. Redgate Clay­ton Re­serves made it a good week­end for the club by beat­ing Whit­ting­ton 3-0. Condliffe, Bowyer and Bick­er­ton were their scor­ers.

AFC Al­sager in­creased their lead at the top of Di­vi­sion Two to nine points fol­low­ing an 8-2 win at New­port Town, with Sam Rev­ell net­ting four times, Ja­cob Hilditch twice while James Mor­ris and Jor­dan Rugby net­ted sin­gles.

East­wood Han­ley Re­serves re­turned from their trip to Feather­stone with a point from a 1-1 draw. Rob Pacey scored for East­wood.

Fo­ley Meir Re­serves, red and black, are en­joy­ing a good sea­son in Di­vi­sion One and picked up an­other three points with vic­tory at Nor­ton Wan­der­ers at the week­end.
