CHEADLE: An evening of Christ­mas Cheer will be pre­sented by Cheadle Flower Club tonight with Anita Wright’s flo­ral demon­stra­tion. It takes place at 7pm at the Catholic Guild Hall, Cheadle. Tick­ets are £8.50, £10 on the door. Con­tact Sheila Jones on 07974 577572.

MEERBROOK: A Christ­mas Fayre will be held at Meerbrook Church on Satur­day, 2pm, in­clud­ing Santa’s larder, Pam’s plants, trash or treasure,

fes­tive goods, tombola, games and raf­fle and a visit From Santa. En­trance is £1 in­clud­ing a drink and a mince pie. All pro­ceeds to Meerbrook Church. BRADNOP: A Christ­mas Tree Fes­ti­val is to be held at Bradnop this weekend.

The fes­ti­val will take place at Bradnop Vil­lage Hall on Satur­day and Sun­day be­tween noon and 4pm. There will be stalls, games, raf­fle, tombola and fes­tive plants/wreaths by Pam Sher­ratt plus home made re­fresh­ments. Ad­mis­sion is free. Last year £1,388 was raised.

LONGSDON: Dun­wood Com­mu­nity First Re­spon­ders are run­ning a free ‘Restart a Heart’ event on Satur­day, 2-4pm in Longsdon Vil­lage Hall.

The event will show peo­ple how to use a de­fib­ril­la­tor and per­form CPR if some­one suf­fers a heart at­tack, what to do if some­one col­lapses and how to deal with chok­ing.

The in­for­mal in­ter­ac­tive ses­sion is suit­able for all age groups and there will be a chance to try out the skills you learn.

There is no charge, and no book­ing

re­quired – just turn up – and there will be re­fresh­ments on sale dur­ing the af­ter­noon. The first re­spon­ders cover the vil­lages of Rud­yard, Longsdon, Hor­ton and Grat­ton.

SWINSCOE: The next grocery bingo night at Swinscoe is to be held on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 28.

The event will be held in the vil­lage hall and the start time is at 8pm.

IPSTONES: A fes­ti­val of lights is to take place in Ipstones next week. The

friends of St Leonard’s Church, Ipstones are stag­ing the event in the church by can­dle-light on Fri­day, Novem­ber 30, 6-9pm.

The theme for this year’s event is Christ­mas Toys Past and Present.

Ad­mis­sion is £2 on the door, chil­dren £1 (un­der-9s free) which in­cludes mulled wine or juice and a pro­gramme.

LEEK: There will be an Au­tumn Fayre and So­cial Af­ter­noon on Satur­day, 2–4pm at St Paul’s Church Cen­tre, Novi Lane, Leek. The com­mu­nity cen­tre is a well-used build­ing now in need of

re­fur­bish­ment. Last year it ob­tained an Awards for All grant of £10,000 to com­pletely re­fur­bish the kitchen, but more work is re­quired.

WET­LEY ROCKS: The vil­lage hall will be hold­ing a ta­ble top sale on Satur­day, 9am-noon. All pro­ceeds to Wet­ley Rocks Vil­lage Hall.

LEEK: A Christ­mas Fair will be hosted by Leek Scouts on Satur­day.

It will fea­ture stalls and a raf­fle from 1pm to 3.30pm.

Ad­mis­sion to the Pump Street venue is free.
