CHEADLE: An evening of Christmas Cheer will be presented by Cheadle Flower Club tonight with Anita Wright’s floral demonstrat­ion. It takes place at 7pm at the Catholic Guild Hall, Cheadle. Tickets are £8.50, £10 on the door. Contact Sheila Jones on 07974 577572.

MEERBROOK: A Christmas Fayre will be held at Meerbrook Church on Saturday, 2pm, including Santa’s larder, Pam’s plants, trash or treasure,

festive goods, tombola, games and raffle and a visit From Santa. Entrance is £1 including a drink and a mince pie. All proceeds to Meerbrook Church. BRADNOP: A Christmas Tree Festival is to be held at Bradnop this weekend.

The festival will take place at Bradnop Village Hall on Saturday and Sunday between noon and 4pm. There will be stalls, games, raffle, tombola and festive plants/wreaths by Pam Sherratt plus home made refreshmen­ts. Admission is free. Last year £1,388 was raised.

LONGSDON: Dunwood Community First Responders are running a free ‘Restart a Heart’ event on Saturday, 2-4pm in Longsdon Village Hall.

The event will show people how to use a defibrilla­tor and perform CPR if someone suffers a heart attack, what to do if someone collapses and how to deal with choking.

The informal interactiv­e session is suitable for all age groups and there will be a chance to try out the skills you learn.

There is no charge, and no booking

required – just turn up – and there will be refreshmen­ts on sale during the afternoon. The first responders cover the villages of Rudyard, Longsdon, Horton and Gratton.

SWINSCOE: The next grocery bingo night at Swinscoe is to be held on Wednesday, November 28.

The event will be held in the village hall and the start time is at 8pm.

IPSTONES: A festival of lights is to take place in Ipstones next week. The

friends of St Leonard’s Church, Ipstones are staging the event in the church by candle-light on Friday, November 30, 6-9pm.

The theme for this year’s event is Christmas Toys Past and Present.

Admission is £2 on the door, children £1 (under-9s free) which includes mulled wine or juice and a programme.

LEEK: There will be an Autumn Fayre and Social Afternoon on Saturday, 2–4pm at St Paul’s Church Centre, Novi Lane, Leek. The community centre is a well-used building now in need of

refurbishm­ent. Last year it obtained an Awards for All grant of £10,000 to completely refurbish the kitchen, but more work is required.

WETLEY ROCKS: The village hall will be holding a table top sale on Saturday, 9am-noon. All proceeds to Wetley Rocks Village Hall.

LEEK: A Christmas Fair will be hosted by Leek Scouts on Saturday.

It will feature stalls and a raffle from 1pm to 3.30pm.

Admission to the Pump Street venue is free.
