Meals for the homeless to be offered for third year in a row

-

FOR the third year running, churches in the Moorlands have joined up to offer Christmas Day meals for the homeless.

The meals are organised by volunteers from Leek and Meerbrook Churches in partnership with Trinity Church, which will host the meals on December

25 for those living alone or homeless.

The meal is aimed at residents in Leek and is open to anyone of any age.

Transport to and from the church can be made available if needed.

There will be no charge for the meal but there will be an opportunity to make a donation on the day.

Visitors are welcome to arrive anytime after 11.30am ready to eat a traditional Christmas lunch at 12.30pm.

Then there will be a game of bingo, some carol singing and an opportunity to listen to the Queen’s speech before heading home at 3.15pm.

This will be the third year that the meal has been held and each year around 30 people and volunteers, have enjoyed the day.
