Let’s hope that this petition does make a real difference
ON BEHALF of Werrington Parish Council, I would like to thank everyone who has signed the ‘Save Our School Crossing Patrols’ petition.
Staffordshire County Council has announced that our School Crossing Patrols will no longer be funded, resulting in this being passed onto local communities and Parish Councils who have very small budgets.
With forever increasing traffic, and critical junctions, children’s safety should be paramount.
May I thank all Werrington residents, businesses, the library and people online that have signed the petition.
We have got over 725 signatures, and now the petition will be handed into Staffordshire County Council.
Other parish councils have also done petitions, and let us hope that these signatures do make a difference.
If the county council make cuts on children’s safety, and we just let it happen, what will they cut next.
It is far to easy to pass the buck. Councillor Lisa Martin Werrington
