Black Lion continue to lead the way after thumping win over Benks 2

BLACK Lion are storming away at the top of the Leek and District Darts League first division after annihilati­ng poor Benks 2, dropping only one leg, while Crown 1 blitzed Dyers Arms 3 to go 10 points clear of their opponents in second place.

There was a welcome first win for Red Lion as they beat Wellington, Jamie Mycock setting a good example to his team-mates.

It is nip and tuck in the second as Benks 6 remain the only unbeaten side, Mark Mellor hitting a hat-trick of ton eighties with Travellers Rest holding on to second after losing at Windmill who have a game in hand. Valiant stay winless after going down heavily at Breaks 1.

Crown demolished a sorry looking Black Lion 2 as they chase down leaders Blue Mugge 2 who beat Mill Street Club 2 to stay top. Black Lion 1 moved above their pubmates after a home victory over Ball Haye Tavern 2.

Robin Hood continue to sharpen their arrows at the top of the fourth as they bulldozed a weak Benks

1 who remain bottom. Meanwhile, second-placed Boat Inn were in full sail as they accounted for Top Pub, who from now on have switched to the Hollybush at Brown Edge for the remainder of the season.

The top two clashed in the fifth tier with Benks 5 taking the honours and denting Priory’s second team’s unbeaten record. Benks 7 also grabbed a fine win at Dyers 2, leaving both Dyers teams struggling at the wrong end after the firsts also went down heavily at Wellington 3.

In the bottom division, Britannia Inn 1 continue to sweep all before them, their latest win coming over Stafford Arms and dropping only one leg in doing so. Fountain slipped up again on their visit to Wellington 1 who replace them in second spot.
