Stafford chalk up win to move closer to CSOB

Back to Saturday’s action and Wolstanton United remain in seventh spot with a 2-1 home win over Alsager Town, thanks to goals from Marc Holmes and Dave Ashley, while Hanley Town pulled off a big 2-1 win at home to Foley Meir with goals from Hakaeem Suleiman and Kieran Poole, but Cheadle Town lost 1-0 at Walsall Phoenix.

Improving Staffordsh­ire Moorlands held Division One leaders Audley to a 2-2 draw.

Tom Lewis and Ben Longstaff scored for Audley, but Alex Cimino netted a double for Moorlands who are now four unbeaten.

Not such good news for their groundshar­ers Ball Haye Green who went down 6-1 at home to Whittingto­n.

Leek CSOB Reserves went down 2-1 at Foley Meir Res, while Abbey Hulton United were 2-0 winners at Norton Wanderers, with Josh Tune netting both goals.

AFC Alsager remain well clear at the top of Division Two following a 2-0 home win over Eastwood Hanley Res, with Sam Revell and Lucas Patterson on the scoresheet, while Cockfield and Wilson scored for Cheadle Town Res in a 2-1 home win over Keele.
