Debut is ‘highly successful’ for village’s market

-

THE first Christmas fair and market held in Warslow proved highly successful on Sunday.

Thirty stalls selling an array of goods were located along Cheadle Road, while children’s entertainment and Santa grotto was in the village hall.

The day also featured entertainment with Warslow Silver Band; a circus academy; animal magic which included meerkats, lizards, spiders and snakes; tombola; Chinese auction; face painting and bouncy castle.

Secretary of Warslow Village Hall committee, Laura Gordon, said: “This was the first time we had done such an event and it proved highly successful. It was a lot of hard work but it has paid off.

“Due to the success we are looking to put on another event next year.”

“We are not sure at this time of the exact amount of money raised, but all the proceeds will go to the village hall.”
