Former professional

Steffan Jones will be in town to conduct a specific strength and conditional training course at Leek High School on Saturday between 12.30pm and 4.30pm.

Jones, a professional for 20 years, insists he wants to help eveyone to perform both effectively and officiently. He says: “I wish to share my experiences, the right techniques and training methods with aspiring fast bowlers who want to stay fit, get strong, avoid injuries and stay fast.

His methods have been backed by former Somerset and England batsman Marcus Trescothick and Australian legend Justin Langer. Trescothick says: “It’s no coincidence during the best period in my career I was trained by Steffan Jones, he helped to parepare me for a number of England tours. I can safely say his methods work, whether it was doing plyometric jumps, strongman training, Olympic lifting or sprint training, every method was both challenging and cricket specific, it worked for me.”

Langer adds: “Great leadership is about great example and there are few better examples of commitment to excellence than Steffan Jones.”

Anyone interested is asked to contact Brian Mellor on 07866 415523.

The cost will be approximately £40 per delegate.
