A FAMILY has illuminated their Leek home for Christmas especially for their teenage son.

Wayne Hesketh has spent hours doing the work on the family home at The Doves, which is located near to Churnet View Middle School.

Wayne’s wife, Tracey, said: “Our son Luke, who is 13 years old, sufferers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He attends The Meadows School in Leek.

“Wayne has spent hours doing the work for Luke, who thinks that the house lights are brilliant.

“We have had many people looking at them, while others have been pulling up in cars.

“People have knocked on the door to say that they are brilliant. We have also had people asking when we are switching them on at night, so I have now got a timer so they automatically come on when it’s dark.

“They are all LED bulbs and the cost is minimal as I can see on my Smart meter that just boiling a kettle costs a lot more than running the lights all night.”
