POLICE officers are appealing for witnesses to several incidents which have taken place over the festive season – including presents stolen from a car on Christmas Day:

n Criminal damage was caused to a vehicle on Westminste­r Road in Leek. The incident was reported on Christmas Eve. Anyone with any informatio­n please contact 101, serial number 102 of 24/12/2018.

n A vehicle was damaged on Frith Street in Leek overnight between Sunday, December 23 and Monday, December 24. Anyone with any informatio­n please contact 101, serial number 115 of 24/12/2018.

n Christmas presents were stolen from a car in Forsbrook on Christmas Day. On Tuesday, December 25 between the hours of 1.30pm and 6.15pm in the vicinity of Chapel Street in Forsbrook a car was broken into and Christmas presents were removed from the car by an unknown person. If you saw anything, please call 101, quoting serial number 654 of 27/12/2018.

n Criminal damage was caused to the Spar Shop on Cheadle Road,

Forsbrook. A hole was discovered in the side of the building at approximat­ely 8.30am on Wednesday, December 26. The last time the shop was open prior to the discovery was 3.20pm on Tuesday, December 25. If anyone has seen or heard anything please contact Staffordsh­ire Police on 101 and quote serial number 140 of 26/12/2018.

n An attempted burglary has taken place in Tean. In the early hours of Friday, December 21 at the Blacks Head in Tean, an unknown person attempted to break in the location at the rear of the property. If you have seen or heard anything, please contact Staffordsh­ire police on 101 quoting serial number 187 of 21/12/2018 if you have any informatio­n.

n A burglary has taken place in Uttoxeter Road, Blythe Bridge. The incident took place between 4pm on Sunday, December 23 and 1.30pm on Thursday, December the 27. A police spokesman said: “It may be that the person who committed this burglary, has come and gone several times over the last few days and we are asking if anyone saw or heard anyone in the area to please contact Staffordsh­ire Police on 101 and quote serial number 369 of 27/12/2018.

n A vehicle was damaged on Queens

Drive in Leek overnight between Wednesday, December 26 and Thursday, December 27. Anyone with any informatio­n please call 101 incident number 243 of 27/12/2018.

n A suspicious vehicle has been spotted in Cheddleton. At around 11.30am on Friday, December 28 a white transit van with luminous chevrons on the back was seen ‘acting suspicious­ly’ in the Cheddleton area. It has been reported that the occupants of the vehicle were seen looking into driveways. A partial registrati­on given for the vehicle is HK06. If you have informatio­n or sighting of the vehicle please contact Staffordsh­ire Police on 101 quoting number 260 of the 28/12/2018.

n On Saturday, December 22 at approximat­ely 5.15pm on Dorset Drive, Biddulph , an insecure vehicle was broken into and a mobile phone was taken. A police spokesman said: “Please ensure that all valuables are removed from your vehicle and nothing has been left on display, even if the vehicle has only been left unattended for a short period of time.”

n Police officers have reports of two males knocking on houses around Conway Road, Biddulph, attempting to clean driveways for various prices.

These males have been very aggressive in their tactics. If you have any issues of the same nature, do not hesitate to report these via 101 or 999 if you feel you are in immediate danger.

n Officers are urging people to be aware of a male and female frequentin­g the Denstone, Rocester, Uttoxeter and Ashbourne areas. The male is approximat­ely 30-years-old, of medium height, white, wearing spectacles, always wears a black puffer jacket. His female accomplice is of similar age, with bleached blonde hair and wearing a fur-lined parka coat. They are using fake £50 notes and have committed several offences. The couple sometimes have a child with them for distractio­n, and also offer vulnerable or more elderly people help with their shopping – probably looking for an opportunit­y to steal goods and purses. They drive a Blue Toyota Rav 4 sometimes with Irish or foreign plates. If you see them ring 101 or 999 in an emergency.
