‘A huge thank you to everyone who helped light show’

-

FRIDAY, November 30, 2018 was the third annual Checkley Parish Festival of Lights. Getting bigger and better every year, this year started with refreshments and Santa’s Grotto at Great Wood Hall, Hollington Road.

We would like to thank the volunteers from Tean Youth Club for supporting Santa and creating a magical grotto.

Santa then mounted his sleigh and with his elves lead the procession of lanterns and torches down to Tean High Street for the switching on of the Christmas Tree and nativity scene lights.

On the High Street there were carols, Christmas songs, readings and children’s Christmas wishes tied to the tree, followed by late night shopping, complimentary refreshments from the Tean Traders and stalls set up in The Venue hall.

Checkley Parish Council would like to send a big thank you to the volunteer events committee who have been meeting throughout the year to organise this and of course the hugest thank you to all the children and families that turned out and made the evening so enjoyable.

Finally, we would also like to thank the businesses and home owners that let us put up and light the decorations along the High Street and around Tean, we are grateful every year for your patience.

The evening was a great success however, the committee are always looking forward, and interested in any constructive feedback so if you do have any ideas you would like to share about the evening then please feel free to contact me on info@theadmingenieuk.com or if you would like to get involved with the organising then please feel free to come along and join the events committee at our next meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 24. 2019, 7pm at Great Wood Hall, Hollington Road.
