How I got where I am today...
A SERIES of events have led me to where I am today.
Opportunities early on in my career allowed me to gain experience in several disciplines. Working with multimedia (as it was known then) gave me exposure to design, creation of graphics and simple programming.
How is your business doing?
The short answer is that we are growing on all fronts.
However, today’s challenging environment with uncertainty, due to political changes, ever tighter budgets and a requirement to keep educating clients makes this challenging.
Education about what we do as a business is the key. Our best, most successful clients, are the ones who engage regularly and keep up with our trends and changes. In a fast-paced environment we help clients to keep a keen eye on their goals.
Why do you need a website?
The value is simple. It allows you to reach your customers who have no idea your business exists. It’s a broadcast platform that can rival any media channel. It allows you to sell your service, products, or advice to the world, whatever the size of your business.
If a small retailer presents itself professionally and follows the right procedure to make itself visible, then they can compete with the bigger players.
I recently needed a replacement wetsuit and wet shoes for my daughter and having researched, I found the items I was looking for. A combination of brand, website and price all played a factor in my decision making. I found the wetsuit with a large, well-known, UK brand. The shoes came from a small shop in Cornwall.
The point is the small independent shop in Cornwall could compete with a large well-known online retailer. Both services were equal in quality and speed of delivery. Both had very well-designed websites giving me confidence to purchase. More importantly, both websites reached out to me telling me I was making the right purchase decision.
What advice would you give to your 16-year-old self?
The fact that you CAN achieve your goals.
