‘You can care’ message in appeal to find more recruits

- By Leslie Jackson leslie.jackson@reachplc.com

A CARE company is looking to recruit 20 more people as demand for its services continues to grow.

Following the success of last year’s campaign, ‘You Can Care,’ Home Instead Senior Care, who are based in Leek has relaunched the appeal to get more people caring for the elderly,

Now Home Instead is holding a recruitment open day at their office on Thursday, January 24, from noon to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm, at Eaton House, Unit 2, Second Floor, Buxton Road, Leek.

The event will give members of the public the chance to meet the team, have a chat, and to find out more about the unique services and employment opportunities there are within the award-winning home care company.

Skills for Care, a trusted independent charity with over 18 years’ experience in workforce development, estimates that eight per cent of roles in adult social care are vacant, which gives an average of approximately 110,000 vacancies at any one time.

These statistics suggest that the sector is struggling to keep up with demand as the population ages.

Carol Lovatt, owner of Home Instead Leek and Moorlands, said: “The idea behind the ‘You Can Care’ campaign is to call out to people who may not have thought about a career in care.

“Caring is a truly rewarding job which offers excellent training and flexible hours.”

“The hashtag #youcancare will be used throughout the ‘You Can Care’ campaign as a celebration of professional Caregivers and a show of solidarity with the hundreds of people working tirelessly in our local area to care for family members.”

Dawn Pepper, a caregiver for Home Instead, said: “I enjoy what I do and I have the hours I want to work. The staff are friendly in the office and I feel I am part of a team.”

Home Instead Senior Care is an award winning home care company, which provides services tailored to the needs of individual clients. The service is flexible to meet client needs and is available from as little as one hour to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The hashtag #youcancare has been created to support the campaign and you can find more information if you search #youcancare on social media.
