Darts league in healthy position insists chairman
THE Leek and District Darts League Annual General Meeting took place at Benks Public House.
In Chairman Phil Keates’ report, he congratulated the teams on yet another successful season, pointing out that the league continues to go from strength to strength and must be considered to be the best league in North Staffordshire. He congratulated all the prize winning sides and thanked the committee for all their hard work in the smooth running of a league comprising of six divisions and over five hundred registered players.
However, he was disappointed with some teams postponing matches at short notice and then struggling to rearrange.
This point, however, was highlighted in a number of proposed rule changes which was unanimously passed by the team representives.
The League Committee was re-elected en bloc with the Chairman and Press Officer being Phil Keates, Vice-chairman Jon Sowerby, Hon. Treasurer Simon Dickin, Secretary Roger Gayes and Competition Secretary Graham Stone.
Registration forms for the forthcoming season were handed out to be returned at the Registration Meeting on Tuesday, September 10 at Benks from 8.30pm. All teams must bring thier forms together with the annual fee of £45 per team.
Teams who have outstanding fines from last season will not be allowed to enter until those fines have been paid,
Teams with outstanding fines are as follows: Missed meetings, Hare and Gate
£15, Breaks £5, Fountain £5, Valiant £5.
Teams are urged to attend on September 10 as entry forms received after this date cannot be guaranteed a place in the league.
