Brown nets hat-trick as Churnet Valley start with a win

CHURNET Valley started their new season in the UTTOXETER AND DISTRICT LEAGUE Division One with a 5-0 home win over Uttoxeter Town.

Their goals came from Rob Brown (3), Paul Hughes and Dan Rooksby and Stone FC beat Doveridge 6-3 with goals from Max Cuthbert (2), Luke Askey (2) and Danny Dolman (2).

Matt Redshaw scored twice and Lee Bagley once as JCB Lakeside beat Cheadle Rovers (Josh

Ford) 3-1 and Sudbury

Park (Javari Hall 2,

Sheldon Jordan, Jermaine Mcfarlane) beat Uttoxeter Dominoes 4-1.

In Division One, AFC Ipstones were the big winners, putting eight goals past Tuns FC. Cody Lear

(3), Ed Ellis , Muslu Onemli, Charlie Robson, Luke Stevenson and Tom Coates were their scorers.

Tean Rangers beat Hixon FC 5-1, Jack Haylock,

Tom Unwin, Chris Bevans, Sean Locker and Andy Walker their scorers, while Waterhouse­s, from the disbanded Leek League, were 4-0 winners at home to Sotne Outlanes (Adam Taylor 2, Daniel Buxton 2).

Jordan Eagle scored twice as Bramshall FC opened with a 6-0 win at Sudbury FC.

Moorcroft Community are through to the second round of the Potteries and District Sunday League

Cup following a 3-1 win at Loggerhead­s.

Chris Boast, Sean Turner and Brad Lewis scored for Moorcroft, with Harry Oliver replying for Loggerhead­s.

Premier Division action saw Bignall End (Tunstall, Humpage, Rogalski) beat Wood Park (Jake Chadwick, Danny Bull) 3-2 and Roaring Meg were 3-2 winners at Silverdale Athletic.

FC Clayton began their Division One season with a 5-0 home win over Black Cock. Matt Barlow (3), Chris Hillman and George Shaw were their scorers, while Cheadle United beat Knave FC 3-1, thanks to goals from Pat Callaghan, Mhani Nassan and Jake Alcock, with Frankie Hughes scoring for Knave.

Holditch United had Danny Nicklin, Nathan Stevenson and Steven Ecclestone to thank for their 3-2 win at Windmill Werrington (Mitch Brennan, Danny Powell).

Newcastle Athletic Reserves smashed 12 goals past Moorcroft Community Click in Division Two.
