LEEK: A flu clinic for over65s and at risk patients will be held at Leek Health Centre today. From 2pm to 7.30pm there will be a walk-in clinic, with no appointmen­t necessary.

KINGSLEY: A musical evening takes place on Saturday, September 21 at 7.30pm in St Werburgh’s Church. Come and listen to a Salvation Army Band and choir. Tickets are £7 per person (including light refreshmen­ts) and you can pay on the door.

MEERBROOK: There will

be a coffee morning for Macmillian at Meerbrook village hall on Saturday, September 28, 10am-noon.

LEEK: Councillor­s Bill Cawley and Phil Taylor will be holding a councillor surgery this Saturday, September 21, 10am-noon at the Wrathall-powell Studio at Westwood First School in Leek. Should constituen­ts not be able the September meeting they can contact the councillor­s via the SMDC website or by phone. MEERBROOK: Two events to celebrate harvest are being held at St Matthew’s Church in Meerbrook.

On Thursday at 7.30pm, harvest even song is followed by a pie supper in the village hall. Suppers have to be booked with Ivy Goodwin on 01538 300543.

And on Sunday September 22, the harvest holy communion is taking place in the church at the slightly earlier time of 10.30am.

IPSTONES: Stalls are available at a Macmillan coffee morning to be held in Ipstones Memorial Hall on Saturday, September 28

between 10.30am and 1pm.

ONECOTE: The next Onecote Village Hall bingo will take place on Thursday, September 26.

Doors will open at

7.15pm with eyes down at 8pm. There will be quality groceries, wine, cash and shopping voucher prizes.

The lucky 7 game has rolled over for several months and now stands at a substantia­l sum.

Free refreshmen­ts in the interval to include homemade cake/biscuits.

New players made very welcome.

IPSTONES: A Sunday breakfast catering service is to start in Ipstones.

The Dolly Birds Catering unit will be available on Ipstones Memorial Hall car park between 9am and 11am. The service ran on September 15 and will run September 29. After this date it will go weekly.

Available will be bacon baps, sausage baps along with many fillings including eggs, mushrooms, black pudding and beans. Hot and cold drinks will also be available.
