Chef Steph’s pop-up veggie restaurant coming to town
A PROFESSIONAL chef who launched a delivery service specialising in vegan and vegetarian foods is to hold an exclusive food event in Leek.
Steph Goodey, who trained as a chef at Whitepepper Chef Academy in Poole, Dorset, saw a gap in the market when she launched her company Goodey Box earlier this year.
Steph, who has been a vegetarian for the past eight years, now delivers freshly prepared vegan and vegetarian meals to homes and offices.
In a bid to expand her online business, the 33-year-old whose career has seen her travel the world cooking on yachts, is bringing a pop up restaurant to Leek later this month.
Steph currently delivers a range of meals, including mains, wraps and desserts on Mondays and Fridays, but is hoping to increase delivery days once she has built up the new business.
She is to hold the event at Spout Brew House in St Edward Street, Leek this Saturday, September 21.
Steph said: “I started my delivery service Goodey Box in April for people who wanted good, wholesome food but don’t have the time to leave their desk, and so instead end up grabbing a chocolate bar or skipping lunch.
“At the moment, I only deliver on Mondays and Fridays, but among my clients I have hairdressers and mortgage advisors.
“I’m hoping to develop the business so that I can eventually deliver every day of the week.”
As part of her plan to expand, Steph will be cooking at Spout Brew House, where she will be taking over the second floor of the building to provide customers with a three-course vegetarian meal and a cocktail. Tickets for the event - which includes a cocktail on arrival and entertainment from a musician - are £25 per person and are available from Steph via hello@goodeybox. com.
