Peace summit comes to county thanks to local speaker Teejay

ENGLAND’S national peace ambassador hosted a Peace Summit in Staffordsh­ire this week.

Yesterday, author, internatio­nal speaker and coach Teejay Dowe staged the second annual Peace and Prosperity Summit to mark Internatio­nal Peace Day.

Track Teens, provides coaching and workshops in schools, colleges, and youth organisati­ons to help young people with self-awareness, behavioura­l improvemen­ts and mental wellbeing.

Teejay, of Werrington, said: “Personal prosperity, both financial and emotional, has a huge impact on our peace of mind. This is what prosperity and peace means to all of us on a very practical level.

“The event is a fantastic opportunit­y to celebrate the work being done by individual­s and organisati­ons that are positively impacting the lives of young people and families across the city.

“As a Potteries girl bornand-bred, I’m thrilled to host the event for the second year running in my home town.”

Park, aimed at bringing communitie­s together, upskilling young people and giving them more confidence.

It was part of the Global Prosperity Peace Initiative, which involves 196 nations.

Author and Peace Initiative founder Dr Paula Fellingham flew in from America to be one of the keynote speakers.

Vietnamese business owner Master Phuong also spoke about her journey from nothing to building up a multi-million-pound jewellery business.

Teejay added: “I’ve been the National Peace Ambassador for more than two years now, so I was absolutely delighted to have the opportunit­y to bring the summit to Staffordsh­ire.

“We’re not very good about shouting about our success here but there are some truly inspiratio­nal individual­s and organisati­ons that do huge amounts of work behind the scenes to help young people better themselves.

“They give them the opportunit­ies to become successful, confident, and financiall­y secure.

“The summit helps celebrate that, giving people the opportunit­y to network, hear each other’s stories and listen to two fantastic key-note speakers who have so much experience and so many stories to share.”
