‘Customers have been brilliant and staff have coped very well’

-

ONE Cheadle business has been kept very busy since the lockdown came into force.

Woolliscroft Butchers, which is located in Cheadle High Street, has seen a rise in customers over the last few weeks with more people shopping locally.

Owner Patrick Stimpson of Foxt has been at the helm of providing people in the town with a butchery service for almost 40 years.

Patrick said: “We have remained open all the time.

“During the lockdown we have offered a delivery service from Blythe Bridge in the south of the Moorlands to Longnor in the north and over the whole of Cheadle.

“People can ring in an order, we then prepare it and ring them back with the price and they pay by card.

“We then deliver it to their doorstep, knock on the door and stand back at a social distance until we have seen them collect it.

“People have also been shopping more locally on our high street shops where we have had queues forming. With it being a long shop we can retain a social distance and have three people at a time being served.

“Customers have been brilliant and the staff have coped very well. I am very pleased how it has gone and have enjoyed helping people.

“People have told me that they are very satisfied and I hope that our new customers will stay with us when the virus has gone away.”

The shop is open Monday to Friday with half day closing on Wednesday.
