Man charged with drinkdrivi­ng after weekend crash

A MAN has been charged following a road traffic collision in Cauldon on Saturday night.

A police spokeswoma­n said: “Police were called at 10.25pm on Saturday, May 30 to a report of an overturned vehicle on Cow Lane in Cauldon.

“A 32-year-old man, from Cauldon Low, has since been charged with driving a motor vehicle with alcohol levels above the limit. He has been bailed to appear at North Staffordsh­ire Justice Centre on June 30.”

A spokesman for Staffordsh­ire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 10.40pm on Saturday,

May 30 to a report of an overturned vehicle on Cow Lane, Cauldon.

“Crews from Ipstones and Cheadle attended. Fortunatel­y no one was trapped, but they worked to ensure that the vehicle was safe for recovery.”

A cyclist received minor injuries in a road traffic collision in Rudyard on Saturday.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 2.45pm on Saturday, May 30 to a report of a road traffic collision near Rudyard Lake Garage near Leek. The incident involved a cycle and a car. The cyclist suffered minor injuries.”

Any witnesses can contact 101, quoting incident number 405 of May 30.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance

Service said: “We were called at 2.46pm to reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist, one ambulance attended the scene.

“On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was the cyclist. She was assessed and treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene.”
