Three arrested on drug charges

▶ Officers are also appealing for witnesses after an Audi A3 was broken into between 5pm and 9pm on Tuesday, September 15 while parked on Leek Road, Wetton. The front driver’s window was smashed and a number of valuables were stolen.

A police spokesman urged drivers to remove all valuables when vehicles are left unattended, do not leave any valuables on display or hide them within the vehicle.

If anybody has any informatio­n in relation to the theft please make contact on telephone 101, Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 199 of September 17.

▶ Reports have been received of damage being caused to some gates outside a property in Rudyard. Unknown offenders have tried to remove the gates off some hinges by cutting through them.

The incident took place sometime after 9pm on Thursday, September 17. A silver Kia was seen in the area.

A 23-YEAR-OLD Staffordsh­ire Moorlands man is set to appear in court after a taxi driver was robbed and verbally abused more than 12 months ago.

Samuel Thomas Egerton has been charged with robbery and a racially aggravated public order offence police announced last week.

A Staffordsh­ire Police spokeswoma­n said: “On August 4, 2019, a taxi driver, on a journey between Dilhorne and Cheddleton was robbed by a passenger who used threatenin­g/abusive/insulting words or behaviour which was racially aggravated.

“A video of the incident was circulated on social media in January 2020.”

Egerton, of Grange Road, Cheddleton, is due to appear before magistrate­s at the North Staffordsh­ire Justice Centre on November 12.
