Strike duo hit hat-tricks in New Penny’s success

NEW Penny’s strikeforc­e proved to be too hot to handle as they romped to a 6-1 win at Eastwood Hanley Reserves in Division Three.

Luke Mulliner and Lee Mountford both scored hat-tricks to round off a superb away performanc­e by New Penny.

Mulliner broke the deadlock after 25 minutes with a pinpoint header before Mountford’s free-kick found the top corner just before the break.

James Whitehurst reduced the arrears in the early stages of the second half, but Mulliner and Mountford took centre stage thereafter as they both completed personal trebles.

Bradwell FC secured their first win of the season with a 5-0 home victory over Old Castle.

Josh Podmore and Jaycee Roberts both scored twice, with Jake Whittingha­m’s effort completing the rout.

Breaks Athletic are also off the mark following home success against Keele University.

It was a first loss of the campaign for the Students, who found the net through Kulvinder Sunnysingh.

However, Ryan Heery’s double ensured that Breaks ran out 2-1 winners.

It’s now back-to-back triumphs for Congleton Town Academy after they saw off Marquis of Granby by the same scoreline.

Jimmy Pettit put Marquis ahead, only for Zak Holley to pull the hosts level.

George Johnson then scored what turned out to be the winner shortly before the interval.

The Wharf’s 100 per cent record remains intact as they returned from FC Red Lion with a 4-1 win.

Morgan Bratt, Aaron Cook, tom Hampton and Harry Pointon were all on the scoresheet, with Billy Heeks netting a consolatio­n for the hosts.

James Nixon scored twice in Stoke Town FC’S 5-1 home win against Park Inn FC.

Stoke Town also have an unblemishe­d record so far as Arron Taft, Will Bossons and Chris Durose also found the net.

Leigh Wootton scored for Park Inn to briefly pull the score back to 3-1, but Stoke Town then found an extra gear to move clear.

Bignall End were 5-1 home winners against Eastwood Hanley in the Premier Division.

Marc Barnett, Craig Mason and Ash Humpage were all on target for the hosts with former Silverdale Athletic man Johnny Hughes and Liam Kelter also hitting the goal trail. Archie Ellams grabbed a consolatio­n for the visitors.

Cuckoo Albion piled more misery on Cheshire Cheese as they eased to a 6-0 home win.

Craig Cookson bagged a brace with Shane Reaney, Aaron Cooper and

Jay Lockley all on the scoresheet with an own goal completing Cuckoo’s first win.

Halmerend suffered a second successive defeat as they went down 3-0 at Roebuck.

Sam Golden’s superb free-kick put Roebuck in front before Oliver Griffiths and Ryan Holmes added to that spot of set-piece magic.

In Division One, Vale Hoppers’ Gareth Roberts kept his cool from the spot three times in his side’s 8-1 demolition for Queensberr­y.

However, it was Queensberr­y who were quickest out of the blocks and took the lead when Jordan Mace finished off a fine move.

They had a chance to make it 2-0, but couldn’t capitalise, before Vale Hoppers took control.

Roberts’ penalty treble was added to by Jordan Morris (2), George Sidebottom, Ash Burton and Matty Dale.

Congress Town and Silverdale Vine picked up a point apiece from a 2-2 draw.

Sam Winstanley and Noah Williams scored for the hosts with Dean Watson and Nathan Ainsworth replying for Vine.

FC Lambourne’s Ryan Lovatt scored a hat-trick in their 5-1 home victory over Moorlands Athletic.

The leaders also had Ash Warren

and Alex Campbell on the mark, while the former put through his own goal to hand Moorlands a consolatio­n.

Matthew Harrison netted four times in The Plough’s 5-3 win at Global Vision. Pete Carter was also on target, but it’s all about Harrison with eight goals in two games.

Global made a game of it with Miles Edie and Javari Campbell both scoring for the second game running and player-manager Dwayne Spence also netted.

Sean and Jimmy Bladen grabbed the all-important goals at Tunstall Park for Jolly Carter as they edge out Canal Tavern 2-1. Rich Birkby scored for the visitors.

In Division Two, Canal Tavern Kidsgrove won 3-0 at AFC Moorlands. Ben Sayer, Jimmy Beech and Joel Dale all scored, but it will be the third clean sheet in four games that will please manager Colin Donaldson just as much.

An excellent second-half display by Royal Furlong helped them to a 6-0 win at AFC Wulstan.

Ryan James put the visitors ahead just before the half-time interval.

The second half was one-way traffic, though, as Mark Ellerton helped himself to a hat-trick

Birches Head beat Brown Edge 5-1. Chris Lockett scored twice, with

Steve Baker, James Breaman and Dan holdcroft adding to his efforts. Lee Hargreaves replied.

Tam O’shanter chalked up another win with a 4-1 verdict at Coach & Horses. Christian Roden made it six goals in four games with a double, while Ryan Rowe also scored twice. Danny Forrester netted for Coach.

Royal Oak Harriseahe­ad won a five-goal thriller at AFC Castle Mona in Division Four.

Nathan Chesworth and Dave Farr both scored for the hosts in a close encounter, but strikes from James Booth and Ethan Timmis had the scoreline at 2-2 before Ryan Pank grabbed the winner.

Jollees are top of the pile with after a 6-1 rout of Birches Head. Luke Kosciekows­ki and Brad Wooliscrof­t both scored twice with Shane Potts and Tyler Simms also on target.

Dean Winsper and Connor Walters both scored twice in Staffordsh­ire Victoria’s 5-2 win at Burslem United, while Chris Wright also doubled up in Roaring Meg’s 4-2 triumph at White Hart Smallthorn­e.

There was a first win of the season for Plaza as they beat 10-man Wolstanton 2-1. Danny Harrop scored for the hosts, but strikes from Mark Broomhall and Liam Shaugnessy gave Plaza all three points.
