‘Something for everyone’ with a programme of half-term events

-

STAFFORDSHIRE Wildlife Trust is getting ready for an action-packed half-term of family activities – and reminding people events are all Covid-19 secure.

The Trust has several events planned to keep families and young ones busy during the half-term break (October 26-30).

The charity resumed its popular event programme at some sites in August following a pause in them taking place due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

Following Government guidelines, the Trust says all events are Covid-19 safe and families are being encouraged to watch the “what to expect’ videos on the charity’s Youtube channel.

At the charity’s Wolseley Centre HQ, there will be family Halloween themed craft sessions, Spooktacular Toddler Treks and Wildskills sessions.

The Trust’s Children in Need project, which recently featured on an episode of BBC Countryfile, is in full swing with Wildlings and Wildfamilies at nature reserves across Staffordshire.

Meanwhile, the Transforming the Trent Valley project will be exploring the landscape this half term with Wildfamilies and Wildlings sessions.

Stafford Borough Council are funding outdoor Family Yoga Squirels on October 30 at the stunning Ferndown Nature Reserve and South West Peak will be running toddler and Wildskills events at The Roaches and Gradbach Mill.

Aimee Burrows, wildchild officer for the trust, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to run more activities this half term. Our team is excited to get back out delivering in Staffordshire.

“We have followed government guidance and have taken measures such as extra cleaning and having hand sanitiser available, as well as everyone being given their own equipment for the event.

“There is something for everyone and with events all around the county you won’t have to go far to find one.”

All events are for pre-booking only and there is limited capacity for social distancing. All events can be booked through www.staffs-wildlife.org.uk/events, where more information can be found too.
