Clubs find out their opponents in Vase mission

ABBEY Hulton United and Stone Old Alleynians have been handed contrastin­g draws for their debuts in the first round of the FA Vase.

The duo won at the weekend to reach this stage for the first time, defeating Ashby Ivanhoe and Dudley Town respective­ly.

Abbey Hulton United have been drawn away at Midland League side Racing Club Warwick, while Stone OA were drawn at home.

They will entertain North East Counties League side AFC Mansfield, who already have decent cup pedigree this season.

Mansfield reached the second qualifying round of the FA Cup before bowing out to National League North side Boston United.

Town will be happy with their draw as they will play host to Gresley Rovers.

The winners of the Eccleshall and Hanley Town qualifying tie will have home advantage against Lincolnshi­re side Deeping Rangers.

Covid-19 issues at Eccleshall forced their game at the weekend to be called off. It is now set to be played this Saturday.

Rocester, who have also been hit by the coronaviru­s, will entertain Stapenhill if they can get past Bewdley Town this weekend.

The first-round ties will take place on Saturday, October 31.

The winners will receive

£825 in prize money, with the losers banking £250.
