Filming takes place in town - but super secretive TV crews are giving nothing away about project

-

FAMILIES have spoken of their surprise after a film crew were spotted in Leek.

The film crew have been seen on London Street on Monday (April 12) and the next day outside the London Mill.

Online rumours suggest the filming could be for the Colour Room, the Sky hit featuring Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor as Tunstall-born potter Clarice Cliff.

However the super secretive crews gave nothing away as filming got underway in the Moorlands.

One passer-by said: “Film crews have been at London Mill in Leek. I’m not sure if it is for the new Clarice Cliff film but the location, a very old mill, would fit.”

The Colour Room - directed by Claire Mccarthy and written by Claire Peate - is being filmed in Stoke-on-trent and

Birmingham and will be released in cinemas and on Sky Cinema later this year.

One social media user said: “Walked past Aldi on my way home from the gym and saw lots of large vehicles and security people with big lighting. Are they filming something?”

Another added: “They started on Friday. A load of vans turned up on the car park. Looks like they are filming in the old mason mill on London Street.

“There were three mini buses parked outside the oatcake shop yesterday with ‘film crew’ on the dashboard so they must he staying somewhere local.”

A third said: “I didn’t realise Clarice Cliff shopped at Aldi!”

Filming for The Colour Room has already been underway at Gladstone Pottery Museum in Longton. It is not known if Phoebe Dynevor has begun filming her scenes yet.
