ONE of the Staffordshire Moorlands’ leading agricultural shows has announced that this year’s event has been cancelled.

Ipstones Agricultural Show committee have taken the decision to cancel the show for the second year running.

The show was planned to take place at end of August.

The news comes after preparations to stage Leek and Manifold shows this year are pressing ahead.

In a statement chairman of the Ipstones Agricultural Show committee, Andrew Stevenson, said: “It is with huge regret that it has been decided by a large majority of the show committee members to cancel this year’s show.

“This decision was reached after much soul searching and although agricultural shows are allowed to operate, it was felt that we could not comply with the numerous rules and restrictions imposed by HM Government to limit the Covid-19 risks. “We fully intend to stage a show next year, if permitted. This will be on Saturday, August 27, 2022 which will be our 70th show.

“We intend to commence committee meetings in early June 2021 to start planning the 2022 show.

“May I take this occasion to thank all committee members and helpers for your past support and hope that we can count on you again in the
