Bus company ‘has abadoned town estate’

-

A COUNCILLOR claims residents have been abandoned by bus operator Arriva.

Residents of Greenhill, in Coalville, are to lose the 11 bus service for up to six weeks while roadworks take place. The junction of Greenhill Road and Cropston Drive was closed this week.

Ward district councillor Nick Clarke said: “I understand these roadworks have to be done, but I believe the 11 bus service could have been maintained to some degree.

“While the residents of Agar Nook will maintain the service, Greenhill has been abandoned.

“Surely the No 11 could have alternated its route in order to maintain a service to be both.

“A limited service would have been better than no service at all.

“Any Greenhill resident using public transport wishing to visit the surgery or post office will find the journey near on impossible.”
