Ant-Trump protesters abusing their freedom
I WOULD like to take this opportunity to thank the President of the United States for his visit to our country.
Despite the childish and disrespectful actions of a few, Donald Trump has a great appeal, in part, down to his directness and the desire to get things done.
I heard American citizens were being advised to keep a low profile during the Presidential visit – this is frankly shameful. I would expect any visitor to this country to be treated as a guest, as I would hope to be treated if visiting or working abroad.
There is a strain of anti-Americanism on the British left, and among our liberal elites.
It is good people have the right to protest, but many of the protests have been organised by Marxist and Islamic organisations. I could contrast the freedom those groups have here, to the freedom, or lack of it, given to dissenters where those belief systems rule.
Donald Trump has stressed he wants to work closely with a sovereign Britain. His policies of “America first” are beginning to make real economic gains, particularly for those in rust belt towns, women and black Americans.
He is right to warn the Prime Minister we are not getting what we voted for and it impedes a British/ US trade deal.
We have a lot to learn from Mr Trump. Mrs May has rolled over and allowed the EU’s bureaucrats to control her. Can anyone imagine them pushing the President around so easily? Jonathan Bullock, MEP for the East Midlands
