KEEPING FAITH
BBC1, 9pm LAST we saw, a man was creeping around Faith Howells house while her three children slept inside, completely alone. Faith (Eve Myles) had skipped off in the middle of the night to follow a clue about her husband’s recent disappearance – but it probably wasn’t the best parenting idea.
With Evan (Bradley Freegard) still missing, Faith now resorts to calling his phone repeatedly, just in case he picks up. Then she eats ice cream straight from the tub and she smells his clothes.
It’s like she’s getting over a bad break up, except that it’s more sinister than that. There’s the small matter of his wig and the driving licence in another name.
Meanwhile, in news of the side plot, Faith represents reformed criminal Steve, who may know something about Evan’s vanishing act.
And back at the office, Tom (Aneirin Hughes) makes a troubling discovery in the company archives that will upset Faith’s trust of her husband even more, if that was at all possible.
EAMONN & RUTH: HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVES Channel 5, 9pm
“DO you want to hear my engine roar?” grins Eamonn Holmes, settling in nicely to Monte Carlo way in a convertible Maserati.
He and wife Ruth Langsford are enjoying another jammy travel trip, unsurprisingly delighted to dive into the glamour. The pair are having a ball, with Ruth even laughing at Eamonn’s bad jokes. They make an entertaining presenting team.
“You see these places in the movies,” says Ruth. “It just says class, sophistication, money, Grace Kelly, Cary Grant, Casino Royale...”
The couple want to know why the sun-drenched corner of the French Riviera has become a playground for the super rich, with residents such as Shirley Bassey and Bono.
Multi-millionaire former Formula 1 boss Flavio Briatore invites them into his ultra-exclusive club to reveal the tastes and demands of Monaco’s most famous residents.
There’s also a trip in a helicopter, a visit to an exclusive wine cellar and the obligatory tour of the world famous Monte Carlo Casino.
