Two held over city armed robbery
TWO men from Leicester have been arrested following an armed robbery in the city more than two months ago.
The incident happened at 7.20am on Thursday, August 30, when a man went into a business premises in Barkby Road and threatened two members of staff with what was believed to be a handgun.
Police said staff were assaulted but did not suffer any injuries.
No money was stolen during the raid.
A spokesman for the force said today: “As part of their inquiries, officers have arrested two men, aged 26 and 27 and from Leicester, on suspicion of robbery.
“They have since been released under investigation.”
The name of the business which the raiders targeted has never been officially named by police.
The spokesman added: “Inquiries are continuing into the robbery and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.”
