Re­bekah gets be­hind new city char­ity shop

RE­BEKAH Vardy chat­ted to staff and helped serve cus­tomers at the open­ing of a city char­ity shop which is set to ben­e­fit a cause close to her heart.

The I’m A Celeb star beamed as she cut the rib­bon and de­clared the new Barnardo’s store in Gal­lowtree Gate open yes­ter­day.

Along with her hus­band, Leices­ter City striker Jamie Vardy, the cou­ple are Barnardo’s first “Fam­ily Am­bas­sadors”.

Becky, who has pre­vi­ously do­nated bags of de­signer items to Barnardo’s with Jamie, urged shop­pers to visit the new store to “bag a bar­gain”.

The full-time mum said: “I’m de­lighted to of­fi­cially open the new store and hope it will raise thou­sands of pounds for this amaz­ing char­ity.

“It’s a great place to bag a bar­gain and you’ll be rais­ing money for a bril­liant cause at the same time.

“As a mum and Barnardo’s Fam­ily Am­bas­sador, I’m proud to sup­port Barnardo’s, which trans­forms the lives of more than 301,000 vul­ner­a­ble chil­dren, young peo­ple, par­ents

and car­ers across the UK.” Barnardo’s chief ex­ec­u­tive, Javed Khan, said: “We’re thrilled that Re­bekah has opened our new store.

“We are grate­ful for Re­bekah and Jamie’s con­tin­ued sup­port as our Fam­ily Am­bas­sadors, from mak­ing do­na­tions of de­signer goods to our stores to rais­ing aware­ness of our char­ity and its ser­vices. We know this store, its staff, vol­un­teers and new cus­tomers will de­liver a fundrais­ing boost to our vi­tal ser­vices

The Barnardo’s store is now open in Gal­lowtree Gate, and sells high­qual­ity pre-loved cloth­ing.

Ac­ces­sories, shoes and hand­bags are also on of­fer, as well as chil­dren’s wear, toys, books and house­hold items. All money raised in the store will be used to sup­port vul­ner­a­ble chil­dren across the UK.
