An emotional week but we’re in right frame of mind, says Wes

LEICESTER City skipper Wes Morgan insists the players are in the right frame of mind ahead of their return to the King Power Stadium today.

In their first game following the helicopter crash, City produced a determined display to beat Cardiff 1-0 in Wales.

Despite spending much of the week mourning the loss of Khun Vichai at his funeral in Thailand, Morgan, below, is confident he and his team-mates’ heads are in the right place again.

“I’d say we are focused,” the centre-back told Sky Sports. “Being so close to Vichai we know what his wishes would be. He’d want us to go out there and give our all, play our best, and try and get the win.

“The lads will be remaining focused on that point and trying to do right by Vichai. “Obviously it’s a tough, tough time but I think our heads are definitely on it and we are focused on the game.”

For the players that travelled to Bangkok, preparations for Burnley did not begin until Wednesday. However, Morgan said it was important that the players paid their respects in the Thai capital. “It’s been a very emotional, very tough week,” Morgan added. “We’ve had a lot to deal with in a short space of time. Obviously we had to play the game [against Cardiff] and the players decided to go straight out to Thailand to pay our respects to Vichai. It’s happened all so quickly but we felt it was something the players wanted to do.”
