A taste of life in country as County Show returns
WITH livestock displays, dog demonstrations and Flyin’ Ryan and his motoribike stunts, the County Show returns this weekend.
Organised by the Leicestershire Agricultural Society, this celeration of rural life with cattle, sheep, equine classes and a wide range of family entertainment is on tomorrow and Sunday at the Showground in Market Harborough
Andrew Granger & Co are supporting the event with sponsorship of £3,500 and a stand situated by the main event ring.
Rupert Harrison, director and head of rural for Andrew Granger & Co Ltd, said: “We are very happy to be supporting and present at this popular regional event again. Having been a business within the county for 30 years we feel it’s important to help community events and groups where we can.
“Agriculture is still a huge part of this special county and it’s lovely to use this opportunity to celebrate all that it offers.
“We do hope that visitors will come and find us, say hello, indulge in a cream tea on us and take part in our family competition where you have a chance to win a £100 Joules gift voucher.”
Originally formed by a group of Leicestershire farmers as long ago as 1833, the Leicestershire Agricultural Show was designed to promote improvements in agriculture, share new farming techniques and exhibit new equipment.
The same ideals still exist today, but with more competitions and attractions for all the family – a slice of country life where children and adults have a chance to get up close to farm animals.
This year the event’s attractions include:
Flyin’ Ryan Motorcycle Stunt Show – jaw-dropping tricks with a dash of comedy
Equine skills display
Sheep and cattle display including ‘The Sheep Show’
Dog demonstration to music by the Nuneaton Dog Club
Fun and obedience show day Fun and pedigree show day Vintage cars and tractors Bouncy castle, donkey rides and hundreds of food and craft stalls
The event takes place at The Showground. There is free parking and the event is free for those under 14.
