Castle Donington OFF THE TRACKS FESTIVAL
OFF The Tracks music festival returns to Castle Donington Farmhouse next weekend.
Now in its 31st year, the independently run event is a mix of old and new bands, family fun, food and drink – and camping facilities that boast “proper showers and toilets”.
It all takes place from Friday, August 30, to Sunday, September 1, and the line-up features Neville Staple – celebrating the 40th anniversary of 2-Tone – with North Notts favourites Ferocious Dog, musical comedy band Lancashire Hotpots, plus Nordic Giants, 3 Daft Monkeys, Kissmet, Rainbreakers, Bad Touch, Della Grants, Headsticks and loads more.
There are four stages.
“People come back to Off The Tracks year after year. It’s friendly and it’s not corporate,” says organisers Andy Cooper and Boz Borys.
“It’s the perfect chance for you to flee to the countryside, let your hair down, chill out and escape the humdrum of everyday life.
“We provide free children’s activities and there’s a play area. It’s a proper campsite with well-maintained pitches, hook-ups and hardstanding, real showers and toilets and a place to do the washing up. We don’t think there’s a lovelier spot to camp.”
The Energy Orchard will include yoga and various therapies, with all treatments provided by volunteers for a small charge.
Weekend camping tickets cost £80. Under-12s go free (accompanied by ticket-holding parent or carer), and a weekend youth ticket is £45. Tickets are available from offthetracks.co.uk or BPM Records in Sadler Gate, Derby.
