LOROS will hold its annual free, family fun day, the Big Day Out, next month.

More games and entertainment than ever before are promised at the event on October 5.

Outdoor games at the Groby Road, Leicester, hospice will include a bouncy castle, inflatable gladiator duel, archery, crazy golf, plus a mini vintage bus and fluffy alpaca.

Parents can listen to the music, including a Paloma Faith tribute act, sip prosecco and relax in the beauty rooms, which offer complementary therapies.

This year, there is a gaming competition for teenagers.

As well as entertainment there will be food and craft stalls, an ice cream van, barbeque, tombola and raffle.

Loros Big Day Out kickstarts Hospice Care Week, which aims to dispel myths and help people understand more about what hospice care is.

Chief executive John Knight said: “The Big Day Out is a great way for people to find out more about what Loros does and what services we offer, at the same time as having a fun day out.”

There will be tours of new facilities including the Day Therapy rooms, and gardens.

John said: “We want to show the public where their generous donations go – providing the best possible facilities and care for our patients.

“The open day is one of our ways of saying thank you to all Loros supporters while showing them how important they are to our success.

“Like last year, we’re offering free car parking nearby so we can use all our space at the hospice for stalls and activities.

“This will ensure we can keep the queues down and make sure everyone has a great time.

“We’ll update our website with the latest developments.”

The Big Day Out runs from 10am to 3pm.
