PERFECT PRIMERS
KIKO SICILIAN NOTES ORANGE BLOSSOM BRIGHTENING PRIMER, Boots, £13
HHHHH
SICILIAN Notes might make you think of the Mafia but – just like a protection racket – if you pay out for this, it’ll have your back. Gorgeous in the pot and HHHHHalmost as nice on the face – smoothing lines, and leaving a subtle radiance. Impressive.
ARMANI LUMINOUS SILK HYDRATING PRIMER,
£34
NOT cheap, but it does give any foundation an upgrade, making it look more luxe. It gives skin a visible radiance which shows (subtly) through foundation, and gives a smooth, longer-lasting finish to your base.
REVOLUTION PRO GODDESS GLOW PRIMER,
Superdrug.com, £10 HHHHH
FEELS very premium for the price and there was no “glow” – it was nice and subtle and you might almost get away with using it without a foundation. However, foundation coated over it nicely, too.
CLARINS INSTANT PORELESS BLURRING PRIMER,
Debenhams, £24
HHHHH
THIS is meant to blur out pores and keep skin looking matte, which is ideal for oily skin.
The creamy and non-silicony feel applied nicely and foundation looks a lot smoother but it didn’t help much with midday shine.
NYX BARE WITH ME RADIANCE PERFECTING PRIMER, ASOS £12 HHHHH
CONTAINS hemp to help soothe, and though it looks very shimmery, it applies to just a nice sheen. Very lightweight, it adds an extra glow to foundation without making your face look shiny. However, make-up didn’t stay on any longer without sliding.
