LEICESTER Tigers have unveiled the colours that they hope will carry them to success in this season.

Tigers new home shirt is along traditional lines and features a green base with red and white hoops. It is completed by green shorts and green socks.

The new change strip is described as a “fluoro-red shirt accented with dynamic Tigers stripes across the chest and arms” – though most observers would say it is bright orange.

Matching shorts will be complemented with red socks. It will be featured for the first time this weekend when Tigers take their place in the Premiership Sevens tournament at Northampton Saints.

Both kits are again manufactured by the club’s technical partner, Kukri, and boast a modern crewneck collar as well as each player’s individual letter on the chest, reflecting the long-established heritage for lettered shirts.

Head coach Geordan Murphy is happy with the new look.

“I had some input into it and certainly the home shirt is back to what I think the fans will like as a more traditional Leicester Tigers shirt. I was really pleased with that,” he said.

“The away kit is bright and effervescent and I think the fans will like it. It is certainly very different.”

This tradition is also reflected on both home and alternate shorts, with individual letters shown above the club crest on each players’ right thigh.

The logo of club main partner Holland & Barrett, the health and wellness retailers, takes pride of place on the front of the shirt, with construction materials group Breedon positioned above the club badge on the chest.
