Four World Cup finalists start for Tigers

FOUR ENGLAND STARS IN STARTING XV AS TIGERS LOOK TO GET SEASON GOING

-

LEICESTER Tigers will feature four England World Cup finalists in their starting line-up to face Pau in the European Challenge Cup at Welford Road this afternoon, writes Paul Jones.

Manu Tuilagi, Ben Youngs, George Ford and Dan Cole have all been called into the Tigers starting XV by head coach Geordan Murphy. A fifth member of the England squad, Ellis Genge, is named among the Leicester replacements.

Murphy has said this week that Tigers need a win after a poor start to the Gallagher Premiership season, and he has named a strong side as Tigers take their bow in the

Challenge Cup against a Pau side who have started well in their own domestic season.

Argentina lock Tomas Lavanini is set for his first Leicester start, while Jaco Taute has recovered from a knee injury and could make his Tigers debut from the bench.

“It’s been a very physical start to the season and with players coming back in from the World Cup, we have a chance to make some changes this week,” Murphy said.
