One trapped in car

FIREFIGHTE­RS were called to the scene of a collision involving two cars near Lutterwort­h on Tuesday.

One person was trapped in the wreckage and the roof of one of the vehicles was cut off to free a casualty.

The collision happened at a T-junction in Theddingwo­rth Road, Mowsley, shortly after 6pm.

Crews from Wigston and Market

Harborough fire stations were called to the scene, along with police and the ambulance service.

A fire service spokesman said: “A full roof removal was carried out and the casualty was extracted using a long board and has been left in the care of East Midlands Ambulance Service.

“Both vehicles have been made safe.”
