Will anyone bother to knock on my door?
I find myself as yet undecided as to who to vote for as not one of the candidates has communicated with me as yet.
In previous elections candidates and their representatives made an effort to knock on the door and canvass. They sent leaflets and held public meetings.
They had the courtesy to ask for my vote and put over their views and
policies, but now they arrogantly and lazily hide behind national television or electronic media.
In our parliamentary democracy we elect a local individual to represent us and use their judgement on a range of issues.
We should not vote in a General Election on a single issue or only on the polities of a party, but rather the combination of the local individual’s abilities to represent the constituency and their party’s proposed policies.
I await some real human communication.
