QI HAVE green skirts and frames and I want to paint them white. Any advice?

AGIVE them a light sand and then simply apply two coats of white undercoat. If the green is still peeping through, keep applying undercoat until it no longer shows and then apply white gloss.

QIS it possible to convert a walk-in shower with a high step into a wet room?

AMaria Jeffery

David Starkey

YES, but the step is there for drainage, so you will need to remove that and lower the drainage into the floor between the joists so that you can lay a flat floor.

QAT this time every year we have an influx of flies which hibernate in our VELUX window frames.

Mary Ronan

AHAD that problem myself. I removed the windows, sanded and painted them – problem sorted. It’s simple to remove the window section, leaving the frame. Either steam-clean or re-paint/varnish.

QOUR kitchen units need upgrading but finances are a bit tight. Could you recommend a paint that would smarten them up?

Brian McKeown

ACLEAN the doors, apply a melamine undercoat and then apply a topcoat of your choice.
