Flipped car smelled strongly of cannabis
Police found a car upside down at the side of the road “smelling strongly of cannabis” and with no driver in sight.
officers received a call from a member of the public who came across the overturned vehicle at 10.45am in Beggars lane, between leicester Forest east and enderby.
Roads policing unit officers who attended tweeted to say they could smell the drug in the car.
There was no-one in the vehicle. The tweet said: “Suspected drugdriver runs out of talent on a right hand bend, fortunately not colliding with anyone else.
“The car smells very strongly of cannabis. We’re currently searching for the driver who has, yes, you’ve got it, run away!”
A spokeswoman said officers were conducting inquiries in the area.
