DO you know which blood type you have?
You can register as a new blood donor and find out. NHS Blood and Transplant is recruiting new blood donors by bringing the What’s Your Blood Type event to the Clock Tower, High Street, Leicester, on Wednesday, January 15, from 10am until 2pm.
You will have a finger prick test which gives your likely blood type.
The service needs around 135,000 new blood donors each year to replace those who can no longer donate and every potential donation could save up to three lives. It especially need new donors with the O negative and Ro types.
There are 23 dedicated blood donor centres in England. Donor centres are bright and modern venues with free Wifi. Blood is also collected in community venues.
