PATIENCE is required for Leicester City – and Liverpool are proof, Harvey Barnes believes.

Jurgen Klopp has been in charge of the league-leading Reds for more than four years and has turned them into an all-conquering side.

Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, has only been in charge for 10 months, and more progress is sure to be made, insists Barnes.

“They’ve been together for a while,” the winger said. “The gaffer’s been here a little while but it’s still fairly new. We’re still learning as a team, including the staff. We’re all learning together.

“We’ve still had a really good start to the season. At the halfway stage, we’re really positive going into the second half of the season.

“It’s a long season, there’s still a lot of games to go. There are a lot of points up for grabs, so we’re going into that very positively, hoping to get that good form back.”

City’s game has been built on intensity, both in their passing and pressing, but they have struggled to maintain those levels as the games have come thick and fast.

Barnes believes Rodgers will make changes accordingly to ensure City don’t drop too far.

“We’ve been on a great run,” said Barnes. “We’ve had a tough two games against the two best teams in the league.

“You learn for next time. We’ve got to do things differently. We’ve got to prepare for it and when we’re out there, we’ve got to deal with the game differently.

“It’s a busy period but the training that we do will allow us to have the intensity levels as high as we can.

“The gaffer knows that if certain people aren’t where they need to be, he’ll make changes.”
