Hard to prove wrappers thrown out car window

-

KEN Taylor’s idea (“Technology could limit discarded wrappers”,

Mailbox, January 18) is very interesting, but I don’t think it would work.

Firstly, to prove that a printed wrapper came from a passing vehicle would require a spy satellite camera on every road in Oakham.

Secondly, there is the problem of drunks, drug addicts and nutters who like to kick over bins in the middle of the night.

Thirdly, high winds can upend wheelie bins and blow their contents along the road.

Fourthly, there are anti-social people who like to take rubbish out of wheely bins and throw it around. In my case, these people try to antagonise me occasionally after I do some litter-picking in an area near my home.
