I’m enthused about the Grace Road prospects

-

HAVING attended an open members’ meeting at Grace Road on Monday night, which was organised to give a full insight into current goings on at Leicestershire County Cricket Club, I was impressed with the vision for a successful future that the new board gave.

It appears that vast improvements are planned in all areas of the club, from developing links with school and club cricket to a total restructuring of the commercial side of the club and an exciting long-term redevelopment plan of Grace Road.

It was well attended and included a question-and-answer session at the end and I went home happy, safe in the knowledge that exciting and successful times lay ahead at Grace Road as we continue to build on the revival of the past five years.

We now have a very approachable chief executive in Karen Rothery and an ambitious, forward-thinking board to whom the sky is the limit on what they hope the club can achieve.

A big thank-you and well done to the club for organising the meeting.

The one thing the club always needs though is the support of the

Leicestershire public, so if you haven’t yet renewed that membership, do so soon and spread the word as we always need new members.

Hopefully, the start of this chain of success will be promotion to Division One this summer and big success in the white ball competitions. Roll on April.
